Udupi, April  07, 2022: Senior Botanist and retired professor of Poorna Prajna College, Dr. K Gopalakrishna Bhat passed away at his residence at Chitpady here on April 7, Thursday morning. He was 75 years of age.

Bhat who hailed from Neerchal Kakunje of Kasargod district had served Poorna Prajna College  as a Professor of Botany for 33 years.

His work- Flora of Udupi, Flora of Dakshina Kannada was a treasure house of information on the plant species found in both the districts.
