SSLC results out : DK registers pass percentage of 78.77 ; Udupi gets 87.66%

Bangalore, May 6, 2013 :  Mangalore : Udupi district has slipped to third position in the SSLC results this time  with a pass percentage of 87.68 while Dakshina Kannada’s pass percentage is 78.77 when compared to 84 per cent of last year.

The SSLC exam results were announced on May 6, Monday morning. The state has registered 77.47 per cent success in the exam.

The results were announced in the capital by Kumar Nayak, Principal Secretary at Department of Education.

This time rural girls  surpassed boys in overall pass percentage of 82.9 per cent compared to 73.25 pass percentage of boys.

Of the 8, 36, 342 students  who appeared for the exams held in April this year,  6,47,951 have succeeded.

Chikkodi district has secured first place with maximum pass percentage of 89.86. Mandya district with 88.56 pass percentage stood second. Udupi has recorded 87.68 percent. Kolar (86.41%) and Hassan (86%) have secured fourth and fifth places respectively.

Thirty five  schools (Five aided and 30 unaided) in the state have registered zero percent result this time.
