Bengaluru, January 12, 2026: Shocking details have emerged in the investigation of the SSLC preparatory exam question paper leak. Police discovered that students had openly advertised the papers on social media and sold them via private messages for amounts between Rs 200 and Rs 500.
The North Division Cyber Crime police in Bengaluru, probing the case, have arrested a headmaster and five teachers, and detained two minor students for their alleged involvement in the leak and sale of the papers.

The arrested include Girish V D, headmaster in Tumakuru; Amjad Khan, assistant teacher in Ramanagara; and Shahida Begum, Fahmida, Mohammed Sirajuddin, and K Farzana Begum, teachers from Kalaburagi.
A senior police officer said the investigation revealed social media posts claiming possession of the question papers. Interested students were instructed to contact sellers via private messages, after which the papers were exchanged for money.
Alarmingly, the leaked papers were reportedly downloaded using teachers’ login credentials, suggesting educator involvement in the racket. Police believe the teachers either facilitated the leak or actively cooperated in selling the papers.
“We suspect the papers were first obtained through teachers and later circulated online by students. Efforts are underway to identify everyone who posted or shared the leaked papers and those who benefited from the transactions,” the officer told DH.
All accused are currently in police custody, and investigations continue to trace the full network and determine the exact role of each individual involved.
