New Delhi, June 20, 2025: In a landmark decision, the central government of India has revoked the second and fourth Saturday holidays for the apex court registry and offices.

The order, issued with the approval of the President and based on a directive from the Supreme Court, will come into effect from June 14, 2025, and be fully enforced starting July 14, 2025.

The change has been implemented by invoking powers under Article 145 of the Constitution, amending Class 2 of the 2013 order. This means all the court office will now function on all Saturdays unless specified otherwise by future orders.

The move marks a significant shift in work schedules for court employees and is being viewed as part of administrative reforms aimed at increasing efficiency and productivity.
