Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D’ Souza, President, Mangalore City Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association, said that regional transport authority should set a fixed charge in the coming meeting to be held on or before September 6 this year.

Vishnu Murthy, Secretary, DK Auto-Rickshaw drivers Associations’ Coordination Committee, said that the fuel price hikes are affecting their livelihood and that they are unable to make both ends meet.  He demanded that the minimum auto rickshaw fare should be increased to Rs.18, per kilometer Rs.12 and waiting charges Rs 1 per minute.
