Renowned mimicry artist Trichur Nazeer begins 24-hour show for communal harmony

Mangalore, June 14, 2012: Trichur Nazeer, an internationally acclaimed mimicry artist from Kerala, began his continuous, 24-hour mimicry and musical show at Town Hall on June 14, Thursday to convey the message of communal harmony. Mayor of Mangalore Gulzar Banu inaugurated the event. 


The chief guests at the inauguration ceremony were Ganghadar Padubidri, Shobha Bhaskar, and K. V. Raman, director of Ranga Bharathi. Singers Khalid and Sali and keyboard artists Naveen, Badra, and Bhaskar were also present.

The musical show comprised 300 songs in Tamil, Hindi, Arabic, Malayalam, and English. He also mimicked several film stars, animals, birds, and other sounds in just one hour.


Mr. Nazeer has presented 6000 shows all over the world and has received more than 5000 certificates of appreciation. One of his most notable shows was a 10-hour show in Dubai Global Village. In 1992, he presented a 40-hour, non-stop mimicry show in New Delhi, and in 2005, he played the mouth organ non-stop for 101 hours in Andheri, Mumbai. 


Mr. Nazeer’s communal harmony show will end at 9:00 a.m. on June 15, Friday. Admission is free.
