Rachana honours Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo

Mangalore, May 27, 2013 : Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo was felicitated on behalf of Rachana, a forum of Catholic businessmen, entrepreneurs and professionals at a function held in the city on May 26, Sunday.

Roy Castelino, Chairman of Rachana, felicitated JR Lobo and his wife Philomena Lobo on the occasion. Capt. John Prasad Menezes introduced JR Lobo and read out the citation.

Responding to the honour conferred on him, Lobo said people from all walks of life have contributed to his victory and added that as an MLA his responsibility towards his constituency was doubled. He further added that his victory was more special because he defeated a four time MLA who was also the Deputy speaker.

He said he had a vision for the development of Mangalore in various spheres and promised to work towards the endeavour. He also thanked Rachana for honouring him.

John Monteiro, Titus Noronha and others were present.

Why are all these organizations making ’samaana’ and honouring all these new MLAs’ and Ministers?! Fine a general celebration and joy of victory. Now let these august leaders get down to settling down to serious work and making good their manifestos at least to a reasonable extent - then based on their success further honours can be given. This sort of waste of time and money and more is only a multi pronged loss to the public. Please my dear people and leaders etc.. do not go in for this further....don’t you know enough of what has gone on for many years past now - let this stop now!-ijss.
