Rachana Awards 2011 conferred on 5 achievers

Mangalore, Nov 28, 2011 : Dr. Christy Fernandez IAS, the secretary of the president of India, conferred Rachana Awards 2011 on five achievers at a glittering awards ceremony held in Milagres Jubilee Hall on Nov 27 Sunday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This year, Sr. Maria Goretti won the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award, Paul Tauro won the Agriculturist of the Year Award, Richard C. Rodrigues won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, C. T. J. Gonsalves won the Professional of the Year Award, and Lawrence D’Souza won the NRI Entrepreneur of the Year Award in recognition of their excellent achievements in their respective fields.

Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore, delivered the presidential address in which he spoke of the need to recognize achievers. Later, he felicitated the donors.

Rachana President Marcel Monteiro presented the model of a house and a cheque to the bishop as his contributions toward the construction of houses for the poor.

Earlier, Rosanne Gomes and Lavita Lobo presented a concert.

Titus Noronha and Marcel Monteiro delivered the introductory address and welcome address, respectively. Raymond D’Cunha, the secretary of Rachana, delivered the vote of thanks. Melita Pinto was the MC.
