RSS not interested in Yeddy becoming CM again

Mangalore Today News Network

Bantwal, Dec 20, 2011 :According to reliable sources, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) high command has instructed B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka, to put his ambition of becoming the chief minister of Karnataka on hold at least for the present.

yddy1Reportedly, Yeddyurappa was questioned by RSS leaders during his visit to Kalladka yesterday how he could be given the post of CM once again when the cases against him are still pending in court and particularly when D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the present CM, is not involved in any controversy.

The RSS has clearly informed Yeddy that D. V. Sadananda Gowda has not permitted his relatives and family members to meddle with the affairs of the state and has focused on providing good governance so far. Moreover, he has never made any announcements about new schemes. Stating that DVS is neither involved in any controversy nor been criticized by the union government, the RSS stated that it will not pressurize the BJP to restore Yeddyurappa to the post of chief minister.

The RSS, however, is interested in getting the post of the BJP state president for Yeddy although Yeddy himself is not interested. Obviously, the meetings held by Shobha Karadlaje and Yeddyurappa with the RSS leaders at Kalladka did not turn out as the duo expected.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to the Shibaroor Shri Kodamanittaya Daivasthana near Suratkal yesterday, Yeddy said that he is trying to put the past behind him. Stating that he had prioritized development issues when he was in power, he said that he is trying to forget that friends have turned into enemies and enemies have turned into friends, particularly because this is common in politics.

Stating that he will continue his practice of visiting temples, he expressed hopes that God will definitely ensure that his innocence will be proved. He also said that he is quite confident of becoming the CM of Karnataka once again, after which he will pay a second visit to the Daivasthana.

He also expressed confidence that DVS will win the upcoming council election. Regarding the controversy revolving around the post of the chairman of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), he said that the BJP high command will decide whether Reddy will continue as the chairman or not.

B. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA); Madhukar Amin, the president of the Daivasthana governing council; and others were with the former CM.
