Qureshi health condition stable, clarifies Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar

Mangalaru, April 17, 2017 : City Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar has stated that the condition of the arrested accused Ahmed Qureshi who is presently being treated at Wenlock Hospital was stable.

Chandra Sekhar The Commissioner who was speaking to reporters here on April 16, Sunday said Qureshi who was recently discharged from KMC where he was admitted a per the court’s directive is now re-admitted to Wenlock at his request. His health is stable, the Commissioner said and warned rumour mongers against spreading false rumours in social media on Qureshi’s health.

The Commissioner said Qureshi was arrested in connection with the case of murder attempt on Prakash Poojary of Jokatte and added that he was also an accused in the case of murder of Sudarshan of Suratkal in 2014.

"Qureshi had admitted his crime during interrogation, while his family has alleged that his kidney has failed due to police torture. A departmental enquiry is underway," the Commissioner said.
