Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2018: Bhoobalan, a young IAS officer of the 2015 batch who was appointed the Assistant Commissioner of Puttur last Saturday, however could not take charge as his transfer was cancelled even before he could take charge.
Sources now reveal that some elected representatives who did not want a honest and upright officer to be posted as Assistant Commissioner here, had reportedly exerted pressure on the Chief Minister and got the transfer cancelled.
Bhoobalan was earlier posted as Assistant Commissioner at Harapanahalli in Davangere. It is believed that Shakuntala Shetty, the MLA of Puttur and Vasanth Bangera, MLA of Belthangady whose constituencies come under Puttur Revenue sub-division could not get along with IAS officers. It is also no secret that they do not want M K Prameela, Assistant Commissioner of Mujrai Department who also holds the additional charge of Puttur Assistant Commissioner, to continue in the same post.
Sources said though Siddaramaiah was ready to have Prameela as Puttur AC, the two MLAs have come even in its way.
Meanwhile, Bhoobalan has not been assigned any new posting unitl now.
People are left wondering what the Legislators who just have a couple of months left in their tenure, want to achieve by stalling the transfer of officials.
