Puttur: Muslim student thrashed for speaking to Hindu girl

Puttur, April 9, 2013: In a case of moral policing reported from Nellikatte in Puttur on April 8, Monday, a group of assailants allegedly belonging to a Hindu outfit attacked a student belonging to the minority community for speaking to a Hindu girl who was his classmate.
Zubair, son of Hasainar, who was a computer science student at a private college in Puttur, has been hospitalized after he was brutally attacked.
As per the statement of Zubair, he was attacked by one Narmesh and another unidentified person while he was on way home from his college. He said the duo questioned him for speaking to a Hindu girl and attacked him. Later, another gang of around ten assailants reportedly chased him upto Puttur bus stand and then attacked him.
Puttur police have registered a case. So far there have been no arrests.
