Mangalore Today News Network

Bhatkal, Sept. 25, 2012: The Vijayawada police have traced seven missing people to a house near Guntoor, Bhatkal and have taken them to the Vijayawada Police Station, along with two men.

Since the photos of these missing people were published in the newspapers of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the owner of the house in Gunthoor, where the missing people were staying on rent, recognized them and informed the police.

The two men who were found with the seven missing people were Syed Baji (20) and Shaikh Ameer (23).

It may be recalled that Bibi Salma and Bibi Fathima, their children, and a girl related to them had left their house in Vijayawada on September 11 after telling their mother that they were going to Bibi Fathima’s husband’s house in Bhatkal. Their mother Bibi Shakeela called up her son-in-law Imran Mashaik and informed him that her two daughters and the children are on their way to his house.

When the group did not reach Bhatkal, Imran called up Bibi Shakeela and informed her about it. Bibi Salma’s husband Syed Afsar also rushed to Vijaywada from Kuwait when he heard the news and lodged a police complaint. The media published photos of the missing women and children.

Although the police suspect that the women had an affair with the two men, Imran Mashaikh, husband of Bibi Fathima claims that they had been happily married for the past 12 years and that their relationship was harmonious. He feels that the men must have tricked his wife and sister-in-law in some way.

Imran Mashaikh has gone to Vijayawada to fetch his wife and children. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the case.
