Ujire June 21, 2014:  Speaking after receiving complaints from public at the taluk office in Belthangady, on June 19, the DC  wondered how people didn’t get tittle deeds since 1977.  As per the direction of 1977, if people have applied for title deeds many years ago and still didn’t get them in Dakshina Kannada district, their applications will be sorted out in the form of Adalat and they should meet the respective taluk revenue inspectors, said Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.

ibrahim AB dcMany people complained about Akrama-Sakrama files. Many files were missing and in some files it was mentioned as ‘semi-forest’ area. For many, though land was sanctioned, they didn’t get the title deeds. After listening to the problems patiently, the DC said that all files should be brought before the Akrama-Sakrama Committee meeting which will be convened on June 28. He directed officials to give information to people about applying for Akrama-Sakrama sanction under 98C, about needed documents and procedure, in taluk office. Information should also be given through Atalji Janasnehi Kendra notice board. He also ordered to transfer all files which are piled at Belthangady Ambedkar Bhavan to Town Panchayat within 10 days.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the land which is less than two acre can be kept out of forest area through a joint survey by the forest and revenue department and he assured of considering that. MLA Vasanth Bangera said that Akrama-Sakrama committee meeting will be conducted on every Saturday and Sunday. Tahsildar Srinivas and others were present on the occasion.
