The logo, which includes the line “recycle for greener tomorrow” conveys the message of a greener environment and urges the public to take up cycling for a healthy and fit life.

The rally will be flagged off on Dec 4 at 7:00 a.m. from Lady Hill Circle and will pass through Kuloor, Kottara, and Pejawar, before coming to an end at Gandhinagar School at 10:00 a.m. It will cover a distance of 21kms.

Last year, the rally attracted 1042 cyclists in the age group of 10 – 72, and this year, it is expected to draw a crowd of at least 1300 cyclists.

The rally is a social initiative on the part of Rxlife, a lifestyle modification centre in Mannagudda, and has been an annual event for the past 5 years. The purpose is to convey the social message of right riding habits and safe riding among kids, enhance road sense among the youth, and increase the tolerance level of bus and car drivers toward two-wheelers. The rally also aims to popularize cycling and instill a sense of adventure in the minds of the young.

Registration is free, and anybody aged above 10 years can participate. Although it is not a competition, 3 lucky riders will win a Hercules, a BSA, and a Lady Bird cycle, sponsored by T. I. Cycles in Chennai.

Registration should be done from Nov 21 to Nov 30 at Rxlife Veenu Building in Gandhinagar. Those interested can call 2457192 for more information. YHAI, NCC, and Team Mangalore volunteers will manage the event with the assistance of the DK district police and the Mangalore City Corporation.
