Mangalore, Oct. 8, 2012: J. Krishna Palemar, former district-in-charge minister for DK, has begun campaigning for the upcoming elections. In a bid to connect with the people of 10 GP’s under the Mangalore North constituency, he released a booklet titled “Vikasa Yatre” on development projects launched in Ulaibettu since 2008.
He announced that nine more booklets on development work done in nine GPs since 2008 will soon be released. Each booklet contains a 2-page feedback form, which people can fill in and return to Palemar.
The newly released booklet says that development projects worth Rs. 4.83 crore were taken up under Ulaibettu GP limits during this period, adding that development projects worth Rs. 130 crore were launched in the Mangalore North constituency after 2008.
The booklet also spoke about future projects, such as the construction of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Ganjimutt, the upgrading of the Mangalore Government Polytechnic as an engineering college, and 11 more projects.
Hailing the development projects in Mangalore North constituency as a model, D. V. Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister, said that party’s state unit must implement the same system in all assembly constituencies that the BJP represents.
He also challenged the Congress to a debate on development projects launched in the state during the Congress rule versus the development done after the BJP came to power. He challenged the Congress to hold such debates in all GPs.
Further, he said that development work in DK has suffered after Palemar resigned. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Speaker N. Yogish Bhat, and MLC K. Monappa Bhandary also addressed the gathering.
