Bantwal, Aug. 14, 2026: Bantwal Rural Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for allegedly possessing banned narcotic substances, including MDMA and ganja, and seized drugs and other property worth ₹4.90 lakh.
The arrested have been identified as Nasir Hussain (37) of Adyar in Mangaluru, Afridi (24) of Kankanady, and Junaid (38) of Golthamajalu in Bantwal.
The accused were apprehended during a raid conducted at Kavalapadur within the jurisdiction of Bantwal Rural Police Station. Police seized 22.57 grams of MDMA valued at approximately ₹2.25 lakh, 30.34 grams of ganja, a car allegedly used for transporting the drugs, and five mobile phones.
The total value of the seized contraband and property is estimated at ₹4.90 lakh, police said.
A case has been registered at Bantwal Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
The operation was led by Bantwal Rural Police Inspector Anantha Padmanabha K.V. and PSI Rannagouda S. Patil, along with Probationary PSIs Shivarama and Fakirappa. Police personnel Uday Rai, Radhakrishna K., Praveen Rai, Prashanth, Lokesh, Vivek Rai, Kumar, Basavaraj, Sridhar and Dhanyashree participated in the operation. Divakar and Sampath from the District Technical Division assisted the team.
