Notorious Criminal Vinod Shettigar found murdered at Udupi Jail

Udupi, January 14: Vinod Shettigar, a notorious criminal, was found brutally murdered at Udupi District Jail on Friday, January 14.

The incident came to light on Friday morning. Shettigar was an under-trial prisoner.

 

Police investigating the case said that the incident occurred after celebrating the birthday of one Nagraj, another jail inmate. They suspected that the knife, which was recovered from the place, was brought secretly from outside. There are rumours that a knife had been hidden in a cake that was delivered to Nagaraj by his wife. Three other prisoners, Muttappa, Riaz, and Nagaraj, are suspected to have killed Shettigar. While interrogation they revealed Vinod had assaulted them earlier. As retaliation, they have killed Vinod during bath time.

Vinod Shettigar, main accused in the Pitty Nagesh case was arrested by the police on August 3, 2010.

 
It can be recalled here that on July 20, Pitty Nagesh was attacked by the miscreants who later had fled in a car which they abandoned near Yermal beach.

 

Police officials are investigating the case. More details awaited...
