Surathkal, Nov 15, 2025: A CNG gas cylinder leak caused panic among the public near Atharva Hospital on National Highway 66 in Surathkal on Friday night.

The incident occurred when CNG auto fuel, belonging to GAIL India, was being transported in large cylinders on an open lorry from the Panambur storage unit towards Udupi. It is said that the gas began leaking suddenly, leading to fear and confusion among people in the vicinity.

Upon receiving information, Surathkal Police and officials from the Mangalore North Traffic Division rushed to the spot and blocked vehicle movement on both sides of the highway from a safe distance. Police confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
