Mangaluru, Oct 12, 2025: Responding to the ongoing debate surrounding Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, produced by Hombale Films, Global Bunts Federation president Aikala Harish Shetty has clarified that the film does not show any disrespect towards Daivas (divine spirits).

“If one views the film as a film, it is beautiful. Nowhere in its entirety are the Daivas insulted,” he said.

Shetty noted that while Kantara has sparked discussions and mixed reactions since its worldwide release, it has also deepened people’s devotion to Daivas. “Daivas are the faith and property of all believers — not limited to any one community or caste. They transcend caste and religion. Kantara has strengthened this faith,” he said.

Commending Rishab Shetty, he added that the director-actor has gained international recognition and brought the essence of local culture to national attention. “The film should be appreciated as a cinematic work,” Harish Shetty said.
