New DC office complex at Manipal to function from Dec 26

Udupi, Dec 22, 2011 : Rajathadri, the brand new DC office complex, the construction of which cost the government Rs. 30 crore, will start functioning from Dec 26. Over 25 government departments will be moved to it soon.

 

Constructed by the Karnataka Housing Board, Rajathadri comprises Block A, Block B, and Block C. The DC’s office will be located in Block A, an AC hall with a seating capacity of 500 people will be located in Block B, and the Zilla Panchayat offices will be located in Block C.

Besides, Block A will house the DC’s office, the additional DC’s office, the information technology officer’s office, the city development cell, the election section, and the department of religious endowment. The first floor of this block will comprise the offices of the district registrar, land survey technical assistant, labour department, deputy director, liason officer, food and civil supplies deputy director, Nirmithi Kendra, Wakf Board, mines and geology department, and information department. The second floor of Block A will house the offices of the housing board, the tourism department, weights and measures department, auditor, urban/rural projects, and pension and small savings department.

 Block B will comprise the hall, and its first floor will house the offices of the women and child welfare department, social forestry/forest department, sericulture department, horticulture department, khadi and handloom department, and watershed development department. The second floor of Block B will house the offices of the ports and fisheries department, backward classes Development Corporation, khadi and handloom board, social welfare department, and the Ambedkar development corporation.

The treasury, the post office, and the bank will be located in the basement of Block C while its ground floor will comprise the offices of the president of the Zilla Panchayat, the ZP Hall, the vice president, the CEO, the MP, and others. Its first floor will comprise the Kannada and Culture Department, Handloom Department, Employment Exchange, and Panchayat Raj Engineering. The second floor of Block C will have the adult education and agriculture department and the DDPI office.
