Mulki: Couple arrested in Rs 1.5-crore investment fraud case

Mangaluru, Oct 18, 2025: In connection with a multi-crore fraud case, the Mulki police have arrested a couple accused of cheating several people in and around Kinnigoli of Mulki taluk.
The accused, identified as Richard D’Souza (52) and his wife Rashmi Rita Pinto (47), residents of Kavattaru village, allegedly collected around ₹1.5 crore in cash and gold from locals, promising high returns through investments in the share market.
The case was registered last year, but the couple had reportedly gone into hiding in Mumbai to evade arrest. Acting on specific information, the Mulki police apprehended the duo on Friday and produced them before the court.
