Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Nov 9, 2012: Unknown miscreants threw the head of a dead cow on a roadside parapet constructed by pro-Hindu organizations in Farangipet today.

The Bajrang Dal (BD) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) noticed the cow head this morning and began protesting against the act. They demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.

The protestors also blocked the national highway for sometime, and finally the police prevented the situation from getting out of control.

Saffron activists threatened that they will intensify their protests and organize a protest in front of the Bantwal Police Station if the police fail to find the culprit by Friday evening.

The Kumdelu units of VHP and BD raised this parapet recently, and the severed cow head was put in a plastic carry bag and placed on the parapet.

Reportedly, miscreants had used similar methods to trigger communal violence in the past too. The police have beefed up security in the area. The local masjid and the Muslims of the locality have also expressed their disapproval.
