Minister Bangarappa responded promptly to the KUPMA office bearers’ request, instructing the renewal of recognition for private unaided Pre-University colleges for ten years starting this academic year. He assured that only online application documents would be verified in the future, emphasizing that private colleges must be prepared to pay the associated fees.

KUPMA raised concerns about student fee refunds, urging the government to ensure no refunds if a student drops out. They also requested the government refrain from issuing any circulars mandating fee refunds for private colleges.

Further, KUPMA highlighted the importance of considering the experiences and suggestions of private colleges before implementing educational policies. They stressed the need for error-free and high-quality examination papers, rejecting the idea of conducting three exams, which they argued would compromise the exam’s quality and manageability. They advocated for one main examination and one supplementary examination, with the syllabus published clearly at the academic year’s start.

The association also requested adequate time for colleges to upload documents on the SATS portal and opposed the allocation of grace marks in final examinations. They emphasized maintaining educational quality and urged the government not to impose new building regulations on existing colleges, though they supported safety inspections by the DDPUE.

KUPMA called for the Department of Pre-University Education to prepare the academic calendar well in advance and to consult with KUPMA members when scheduling competitive and annual exams. They also sought timely permission for new colleges and additional sections, advocating for a structured calendar of events.

PU Director Sindhu B Rupesh announced that the revenue department would soon implement land conversion for educational purposes across districts.

The meeting saw positive responses from ministers and departmental officials, including Principal Secretary Ritesh Kumar Singh and Director of School Education (Pre-University) Sindhu Rupesh, who agreed to address the 15 demands presented by KUPMA President Dr. M. Mohan Alva.

Notable attendees included Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Secretary of of KUPMA Prof. Narendra L Nayak, President Dr. M.B. Puranik, Vice President Dr. Sudhakar Shetty, Joint Secretary Vishwanath Sheshachala, and other regional representatives.
