Mangaluru, Jan 08, 2018 : Several including cops were injured during a clash between two  groups inside District  jail in Mangaluru on January 08, Monday.

Sources said the clash erupted when inmates had gathered for tea in the evening. However, the actual reason behind what triggered the deadly fight is yet to be ascertained.

Security has been beefed up in and around Mangaluru prison following the incident. Police commissioner and other senior police officers are camping on the spot as the situation inside the prison is stated to be tense.
