Mangaluru: VHP, Bajrang Dal protest against move to amend Karnataka Cattle Slaughter Prevention Act

Mangaluru, December 9, 2025: Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staged a protest in Mangaluru on Monday, alleging that the state government is attempting to dilute the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020.

Protesters gathered in front of the Clock Tower and raised slogans against the government, accusing it of planning amendments that would weaken the existing law and benefit cattle slaughterers.

Addressing the protest, Rajasekharananda Swami of Vajradehi Math criticized the government, claiming it is supporting those involved in cattle slaughter. He demanded that the proposed amendments be dropped immediately and urged the government to further strengthen the 2020 cattle slaughter prevention and protection law.
