Mangaluru, Sept 11, 2025: Mid-term (Dasara) holidays will begin from September 20 for schools following both the state and central curricula.
For government, aided, and unaided schools under the Department of School Education and Literacy (state syllabus), the holidays will be from September 20 to October 6. Schools will reopen on October 7.
In undivided Dakshina Kannada district, CBSE schools will also start their mid-term holidays on September 20, which will continue until October 2. Classes will resume on October 3. However, there may be minor variations in holiday schedules depending on the respective CBSE managements. Some schools that grant longer holidays during Diwali and Christmas tend to shorten the Dasara break accordingly.
In certain schools across different curricula, including the state syllabus, special classes may be organized during the mid-term break for students of specific grades, especially in preparation for SSLC/exam improvements. Sources said that such sessions will be planned in a way that does not place any undue pressure on students or parents.
