Mangaluru, July 12, 2025: In a major development in the ongoing investigation into a drug consumption case, Mangaluru police have arrested a medical student who was allegedly involved in supplying narcotic substances in the city.
The accused has been identified as Prajwal Pinyas, a native of Bidar and currently residing in Kodipalya. He is said to have procured drugs from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and sold them in Mangaluru. His arrest is linked to a case registered in the city on July 2.
So far, police have arrested nine individuals in connection with the drug supply network operating in Mangaluru. Among them, Prajwal is believed to be a key accused involved in sourcing drugs from outside the state and distributing them locally.
He was produced before the court, which has remanded him to judicial custody. Investigations revealed that Prajwal was previously pursuing medical studies at a private college in Mangaluru and already has three drug peddling cases registered against him in various police stations across the city.
