Mangaluru, Aug. 15, 2026: In an effort to maintain cleanliness across the city, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Rahul Rathnam Pandey on Friday inspected several garbage black spots, waste management facilities, construction waste disposal systems, and sanitation arrangements in different parts of the city.
The Commissioner visited key locations, including Shivarama Karanth Road, K.S. Rao Road, Lady Goschen area, Central Market, and other prominent zones. Officials from the Health Department briefed him on the city’s waste management system. Pandey also interacted with sanitation workers to understand street-cleaning methods and other cleanliness-related activities.
During the inspection, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure the installation of dustbins in commercial areas, including hotels, shops, and other business establishments. He also instructed them to expedite the removal of construction debris, clear temporary structures encroaching on footpaths, and install CCTV cameras at garbage black spots to curb illegal dumping.
Further, he ordered officials to issue notices to roadside food vendors found littering public roads and violating waste disposal norms.
