Mangaluru, Oct 8, 2025: The skeletal remains of a man — including a skull and bones — were found hanging from a tree inside Akshaya Farm at Talapady Devipura under Ullal Police Station limits on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the remains were discovered by local labourers working in the farm, who noticed bones beneath a tree. A green bermuda shorts and a green T-shirt were found at the spot, indicating the remains are likely those of a male. A nylon rope was found hanging from a tree branch with a headphone and some bones still attached. Another branch had a saffron-colored shawl hanging from it. A mobile phone was also reportedly found in the bermuda pocket.
Ullal police and the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team visited the spot and collected the skull, bones, and other remnants for forensic examination. The body was completely decomposed, with only skeletal parts remaining, suggesting the death occurred several months ago.
Police are investigating how the incident took place within the walled premises of Akshaya Farm. The area has several timber mills and employs a large number of migrant workers from other states. Locals said that due to the strong chemical odor from nearby factories, the smell of decomposition went unnoticed for a long time.
