Mangaluru, September 14, 2025: A Lok Adalat held at the District Court here on Saturday witnessed a heartwarming moment when a couple seeking divorce chose to reconcile and continue their marriage.
Harish Salian and Shashikala, who had filed for divorce citing marital differences, were referred to the court’s mediation centre. After sustained counselling, both agreed to reunite. During the Lok Adalat session, they exchanged garlands before Principal District Judge Basavaraj, symbolizing their reunion and amicable closure of the case.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Member Secretary Zaibunnisa, along with several judges and advocates, were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in Udupi district, a massive Lok Adalat successfully disposed of 24,575 cases across Udupi, Kundapur, Karkala, and Baindoor. Settlements were reached through mutual consent, with compensation amounting to ₹11.47 crore announced.
