Mangaluru, June 7, 2026: Deekshit Amin, a promising basketball player from Mangaluru, has been selected to represent India in the Indian School Boys (U-18) Basketball Team for the World School Basketball Championship scheduled to be held in Xaltibor, Serbia, from June 13 to 23, 2026.
The prestigious championship is organised by the International School Federation and will feature school teams from various countries competing at the global level.

Deekshit is the only player from Karnataka to earn a place in the Indian squad. He represents the Mangalore Basketball Club (MBC), where he has been honing his skills under the guidance of head coach Aditya Mahale.
A student of Presidency School, Mangaluru, Deekshit’s selection is a significant achievement for both the school and the state’s basketball fraternity. His inclusion in the national team reflects his dedication, consistent performance, and potential on the international stage.
