Mangaluru: Accused who evaded Court for seven years held by Kavoor police

Mangaluru, Oct 18, 2025: The Kavoor police have arrested a man who had been absconding from court proceedings for nearly seven years.

The accused, Dharmaraj (60), a resident of Jyothi Nagar, Kavoor, was wanted in connection with a case registered at the Kavoor police station in 2018. Despite multiple court summons, he failed to appear, prompting the issuance of an LPC (Long Pending Case) warrant against him.


Absconded man


Based on a tip-off, a police team comprising ASI Chandrashekar Sanil, Head Constable Balakrishna, and PC Chandrashekarappa tracked him down and arrested him near Moolki Pakikere, Kemral.

The accused was later produced before the 1st Additional Senior Civil Judge, who remanded him to judicial custody till October 29.
