Mangaluru, Mar 11, 2026: The Kavoor police have cracked a jewellery theft case within 24 hours and arrested the accused in connection with a burglary at a house in Ullasnagar.
According to a statement issued by the city police, the stolen gold and silver ornaments have been recovered from the accused, who has been remanded to judicial custody.
The theft occurred around 12 noon on March 7 at a residence in Ullasnagar, Kavoor, when the occupants were away. The accused allegedly broke open the lock of the front door and gained entry into the house.
Following the incident, a complaint was lodged with the Kavoor police stating that gold jewellery weighing 39 grams and silver ornaments weighing 182 grams, together valued at about ₹4.8 lakh, had been stolen.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Acting swiftly, the police team traced and arrested the suspect within 24 hours of the case being reported.
Police said the prompt arrest and recovery of the valuables were possible due to the coordinated efforts of the station personnel.
