Mangalore, Jan 3, 2013: A two National Vendor Development Programme cum Exhibition will be held at Karnataka Government Polytechnic (KPT) here on January 5 and 6 under the joint aegis of the Branch MSME Development Institute, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Yeyyadi, Mangalore, District Industries Centre, Government of Karnataka and District Small Industries Association, Yeyyadi.

Speaking at a press meet held at Press Club on Jan 3, Thursday, K Socrates, Deputy Director, MSME DI said that the programme aims to develop linkage between large and small enterprises.


He also said that the event will provide an opportunity to Micro, Small and Medium  Enterprises to showcase their capabilities to the various wings of Government, establishments of Railways, Defence, Public Sector undertakings and other large scale private enterprises who outsource from micro and small enterprises.


The event will further  enable large scale enterprises to identify suitable vendors among the MSE sector for forging ‘Vendor – Vendee’ relationship.


He said that M Maheshwar Rao, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce, Bangalore will inaugurate the event on Jan 5 at 10 am. Jamkhandi, Director, MSME DI, Bangalore will preside over the event. PP Upadhya, Managing Director, MRPL will release the souvenir.


Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner N Prakash will be the chief guest at the valedictory function to be held on Jan 6 at 4 pm.


SG Hegde, DIC, Mangalore and K Jayaraj, President of DSIA were present at the press meet.
