Addressing the protestors, Kiran Manjanabailu, Convenor of the Mathru Bhoomi Samrakshana Samithi of Niddodi said there is no way that the project would be allowed at Niddodi. He lashed out at the authorities for planning to go in for a thermal project at Niddodi despite expert reports stating that thermal projects were not advisable in the  ecologically sensitive coastal districts.

Eric Ozario,  Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann and Covnenor of Jagotik Konkani Sanghatan, who also spoke, called upon people of Niddodi to boycott the next Lok Sabha elections if the government fails to shelve the project by then. He said the Jagotik Konkani Sanghatan strongly condemned the moves of rendering the poor destitutes by  purchasing their  lands at cheap prices for the benefit of capitalists.

Alphonse D’Souza, President of Mathru Bhoomi Samrakshana Samithi,  Dennis D’Silva, State President of IFCKA, Dinesh Holla, noted artiste,  members of ICYM, Catholic Sabha,  All College Studens Union and St  Aloysius Students Union participated in the protest.
