Mangalore, Oct 7, 2013: Customs officials have recovered two gold biscuits weighing 200 grams from a person who arrived by a flight from Damam at the Mangalore International Airport on October 6. The value of the seized gold is estimated at Rs 5,45,436. Each biscuit weighed 100 grams.
The arrested man has been identified as S Mohammad, a resident of Mangalore. He had arrived by the Air India Express flight at 3.30 am on Sunday. Customs officials on examining his luggage found the gold biscuits inside it.
Investigations are underway under the direction of Mangalore Customs Commissioner D Purushottam.
