Mangalore, Oct 7, 2013: The drugs and sex mafia was more rampant in the district at present and it is the school and college students, particularly those residing in hostels who fall prey to this racket, observed Jagadish Karanth, State Convenor of Hindu Jagarana Vedike.
He was speaking at a Hindu Youth Convention held at Padil on October 6, Sunday on behalf of the Vedike in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Stating that no state government has been able to crack down this mafia so far, Karanth questioned why people who raised voice against the Padil homestay attack were silent about the drugs mafia.
On this occasion,he claimed that the Vedike was an organization aimed at protecting the interests of the Hindus and added that it would give no scope for any attack on Hindus.
Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupura Sri Vajradehi Mutt, said the nation needed a capable Hindu leader who can take it forward. Janardhan Arkula, businessman preside over the function.
Prior to the function, a bike rally was taken out from Pumpwell Circle to Padil Junction.
Several leaders of Hindu Jagarana Vedike including Satyajith Suratkal, Kishore Kumar, Vasudeva Gowda, Raviraj BC Road, Subhash Padil and others were present.
