Mangalore, Oct 3, 2013 : The timely action of the Mulki police averted a likely moral policing incident near Bappanadu on October 2, Wednesday.
As soon as the police were tipped off that some Hindu outfits were planning to target couples belonging to different religions who were travelling in a car, they rushed to the spot, intercepted the car and took the couples to custody.
As per information available, some members of Hindu outfits were following the Alto car in which three men and two girls were travelling from Mangalore to Udupi. As soon as the Hindu outfit members spotted the police, they fled the place.
It is learnt, the youngsters misbehaved with the police forcing the latter to summon their parents. The youngsters were later released after duly warning them.
