Kundapur, Dec 30, 2011 : A man who was trying to sell deer pelt was arrested by the Mangalore special police forest mobile squad at the Airabail bus stand in Siddapur on Dec 28 Wednesday. They have also confiscated 3 deer pelt from him.
The police squad arrested Starwin Wilson (20) when he was waiting at the Airabail bus stand with the deer pelt, obviously trying to find a customer.
The accused has been handed over to the Shankaranarayan police, who have registered a case against him under the Wildlife Act. Sub Inspector Jayanth is currently investigating the case.
The special squad comprised Squad Sub Inspector Manjunath K. R., Head Constables Umesh Hosolike, Sitaram, Narayan, Ramachandra, Basheer, Honnappa Gowda, Sadashiv, and Harishchandra Gowda. They conducted the operations under the guidance of U. Nissar Ahmed, the IGP of Bangalore CID forest unit and A. R. Anvekar, the SP of Madikeri forest CID unit.
