Madarasa teacher gets 6 months jail for misbehaving with girl in bus

Belthangady, Aug 22, 2023: The Belthangady Court has sentenced a Madarasa teacher to six months imprisonment for sexually harassing a student while she was travelling in a KSRTC bus.

The convict is Mohammad Saifulla, a Madarasa teacher of Moodigere taluk. The incident occurred while travelling in a KSRTC bus operating on the Dharmasthala-Puttur route. As the bus was passing through Ilanthila Kadavinabagilu the accused had misbehaved with the girl, who is a student of a private college.

Following this a complaint was lodged. The Belthangady police had filed a charge sheet.

Apart from six months imprisonment the court has also slapped a penalty of Rs 5000 on the convict.
