MLA JR Lobo distributes aid under NFBS to 60 beneficiaries

Mangalore, Aug 15. 2013: Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo distributed  pension  to beneficiaries of various schemes under the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) at the NGO office  here on August 14, Wednesday.

A total of 60 beneficiaries received Rs 10,000 each while a sum of Rs 6 lakhs was distributed among beneficiaries of Sandhya Suraksha Scheme.

The MLA also distributed a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh to the family of a person who was washed away in a drain during heavy rains  at Attavar in Mangalore recently.

Under the National Family Benefit Scheme, assistance is given by the Centre to the families below poverty line which have lost their primary bread winner. The assistance is given to the  surviving member of the family who is determined to be the head of the family upon the death of the primary bread winner.
