The owner of the sealed abattoir is Naeem, the son of Noor Mohammed. Interestingly, the MCC had sealed Noor Mohammed’s abattoir a couple of weeks back.

The MCC team was led by Joint Commissioner Shrikanth Rao and comprised Manjunath R. Shetty, environmental engineer; Raghunath, health officer; S. N. Bhat, assistant health officer; and Yashwanth, Santhosh, Bharath Kumar, Karunakar, Poovappa, Nirmala, Sushanth, and others. The raid was conducted as per the directions of Dr. Harish, MCC commissioner.

When the MCC team raided Naeem’s abattoir at 4:30 a.m. today, they found skins of sheep and live animals on the premises. The officers noticed that the abattoir was not clean. They seized 80 live animals, skins of three sheep, and meat of six slaughtered sheep. The officers said that they decided to seal the slaughter house because they obtained enough evidence to prove that illegal activities were going on there.

The MCC team buried the meat in its dumping yard at Pachanady and decided to auction off the live sheep.
