Udupi, Oct 17, 2025: According to a forecast by the India Meteorological Department and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), a low-pressure system has developed over the eastern Arabian Sea, likely causing rough sea conditions and rainfall along the Karnataka coast over the next week.
The district administration has stated that during this period, wind speeds may reach 45 to 55 km/h, accompanied by rainfall and turbulent sea conditions, including high waves possibly reaching the shore.
In response, the District Disaster Management Authority has issued precautionary advisories for the public and officials:
Public, tourists, and fishermen are advised to avoid entering the sea or rivers.
Fishermen already out at sea are urged to return to the shore as soon as possible.
