Lorry hits scooter killing father – daughter duo

Mangalore, Nov 12, 2011: A father – daughter duo was killed when their scooter was hit by a speeding lorry this morning.

Sushmitha, a I BA student of St. Agnes College, who was pillion riding with her father, died when their two wheeler was hit by a lorry at Yekkur Gorigudda at 8:15 this morning. Her father, who was seriously injured, was rushed to Omega Hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

                        

 

 

 

Since Sushmitha had to attend a camp, they left home early, but met with an accident although traffic was sparse. A lorry going at top speed hit the scooter as a result of which the father-daughter duo were thrown off and Sushmitha died instantly. 

Ramesh is known for riding carefully. The lorry, which hit the scooter, disappeared from the scene. Initially, nobody helped the father – daughter duo, but a doctor who was on his way to Deralakatte saw the two, put them in his car and took them to Omega Hospital.
