Loan app issue: Woman complains about threat of making nude pic viral

Mangaluru, Aug 25, 2023: A young woman has lodged a complaint at the CEN police station in the city on the alleged threats she received from identified men stating they would make viral her morphed nude picture. It is learnt, the young  woman received the threat after she secured loan from a loan app.

 

The victim had on April 15 downloaded a loan app named Quick Money from Google Play Store and had applied for a loan of Rs 10,000. She got a loan of Rs 7500 immediately. She had later repaid the loan. But the woman began getting calls from several WhatsApp numbers asking her to take loan again and they themselves credited Rs 14,000 to the woman’s account which she repaid.

It has been alleged that the strangers later withdrew Rs 51,000 from her account and demanded more money and then threatened to make her morphed naked video viral. Following this the woman has lodged a complaint.
