LPG tanker tragedy ; 1 more succumbs; death toll rises to 10

Mangalore, April 13, 2013 : The death toll in the LPG tanker tragedy at Perne near Uppinangady recently, has risen to ten. On April 13, Saturday, Indira(40), a housewife who had sustained serious burn injuries, breathed her last at the hospital.

Indira was a friend of Vimala, an anganwadi teacher who died on Friday in the same hospital.

Hospital sources said another injured Hajima (70) who has sustained 50 per cent burn injuries is critical. Two other victims Safiya (28), daughter-in-law of Hajima has suffered 30 per cent injuries and is in a private hospital in Puttur.

On April 12, Friday, yet another injured Vimala, an anganavadi teacher, had succumbed to her injuries. Others who lost their lives are Cheluvarasu, the tanker driver, Shobha, Vanitha, Chitresh, Sunil, Omni driver Vasanth and Khateejamma.
