Kunjathbail clash: ex-corporator released

Mangalore, March 16, 2013 : The former corporator of Kunjathbail ward Sharath Kumar who was arrested following clashes between Congress and BJP workers during a victory rally of Kunjathbail’s newly elected corporator Mohammad on the night of March 14, has been released.
Cases have been registered against over 225 men by the Kavoor police in connection with the clashes.
It may be recalled that consequent upon the arrest of the former corporator, hundreds had laid siege to the Kavoor police station demanding his release and also action against the Kavoor SI and a constable who, they said had assaulted Sharath Kumar.
They have also set a deadline of 48 hours failing which they would intensify their protest.
There are reports that the police have also received complaints over 25 persons who picketed the Kavoor police station on March 15.
