Mangaluru: 16 grams of MDMA worth Rs 1.6 lakh seized, one arrested

Mangaluru, September 30, 2026: Kavoor police have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly possessing MDMA and seized 16 grams of the banned drug worth an estimated Rs 1.60 lakh from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammed Irfan A.K. (26), a resident of Ajjinadka village near Kotekar Post in K.C. Road, Ullal.
According to police, the accused was found behaving suspiciously near the tarred road leading from Bondel in Marakada village towards Moodushedde on September 29. During a search, police allegedly found around 16 grams of MDMA in his possession and seized it as per procedure.
A case has been registered at the Kavoor Police Station under Crime No. 128/2026 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is underway.
Police said the accused had previously been booked in a theft case at Ullal Police Station, another theft case at Punjalakatte Police Station and a case related to consumption of ganja at Ullal Police Station.
