Udupi: Manipal hospital patient seriously injured after jumping from fourth floor

Udupi, Oct 1, 2026: An in-patient at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Hospital in Manipal sustained serious injuries after reportedly jumping from the hospital’s fourth floor on Wednesday afternoon.
The injured person has been identified as Rajesh R. Shetty from Thirthahalli. He had reportedly been admitted to the hospital following an earlier suicide attempt and was undergoing treatment in the ICU.
According to preliminary information, Shetty jumped through a window on the fourth floor of the hospital and fell to the ground. He sustained serious injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment.
A video purportedly showing the incident has gone viral on social media.
